Our Honeymoon

The night after our wedding, we enjoyed an amazing dinner at The View restaurant, we had a gift card from Dan’s dad and it was the perfect time to you use.  The next morning we packed up our room and the car and headed to get breakfast in town before leaving Lake Placid for Montreal.

Starting our honeymoon

The GPS didn’t work once we got to Canada, so we worked off the guidebook maps to find our cute hotel, Le Petit Hotel, in Old Montreal.  Our trip consisted of amazing dinners, with wine and dessert, visiting Jean-Talon market for a picnic atop Mont-Royal, touring the site of the Montreal Olympics and the botanical gardens, and sightseeing around the Old Port.  Some favorite meals were had at Restaurant Holder and Olive + Gourmando.

On our last night in Montreal, we booked a hotel in Cambridge for the rest of our trip, figuring that was a great stopping point en route back to Virginia.  We stopped in Burlington, VT on our way to Boston, visited the Magic Hat brewery and ate lunch downtown before heading to Ben and Jerry’s to tour the factory (fun, but very cheesy!).  I was looking forward to a scenic drive through Vermont and New Hampshire at the peak of leaf peeper season, unfortunately it proved to be very rainy and foggy on the way, I got a few photos though.

We got to Cambridge at dinner time and headed to Harvard Square for pizza.  The next day we walked around Boston, touring Quincy Market, Boston Common, the Bull and Finch (Cheers!) and Little Italy for sweets from Modern Pastry.  Our last night we took it easy, grabbing dinner at an irish pub next door to our hotel.  We left early this next morning for the long drive home (so glad we got home on Saturday night and had a day at home before work on Monday).  On Sunday we ran errands, went to the grocery store, did laundry and settled in at home, as newlyweds!
