Running on the Road: The Strip

Last week I was in Las Vegas for work and because it was my first time there insisted on staying on “the strip.”  We found cheap rooms at the Monte Carlo, ate some great food, hiked and had an excellent planning meeting.

While there, I took advantage of a late morning start for our meeting and went for a 6 mile run up and down the Las Vegas Strip.  I saw the hotels you hear about and see on TV, found that I could be in Paris, Italy, Egypt, Monaco and New York in one day and all while the city was fairly calm except for some fellow runners out there also enjoying the “quiet.”  It was a great workout as you can probably imagine if you have been there, many of the streets require you to take a bridge to cross so I ran lots of stairs that morning as well.  All of the neon may not have been in full effect, but to me it was a great way to see the “city.”
