Hiking Gold Butte

Last week while i was in Nevada for work, part of our trip included a hike and tour of the area we are working to protect.  Gold Butte is located in southeastern Nevada near Mesquite.  We are working to brand the area as, “Nevada’s piece of the Grand Canyon” and let me tell you that is exactly what it is.  The area has such a diverse landscape from mountain peaks to red rock canyons and one can hike around or drive on the designated roads to see the many unique features.

We stopped for lunch at a place called Little Finland where we explored around and found petroglyphs that date back centuries.
